CLV hides details when they find out you are a student and new to renting from a company.

after they showed me and a my roomate the place and had us pay a non refundable deposit, they send us the lease with information that it is required we find our own 3rd party house rental insurance.

Never did they mention this to us. it may be normal to expect that if you've rented before, but we didnt know and they didnt tell us till after we gave non refundable deposit to them. as a student, that makes a big difference when choosing where to live and your budget.

when we finally moved out and they were showing the apartment to another student, I asked them if they were told about this extra cost, and they said no. so watch out for these guys.

This is the same thing that happened to us. They told us we needed this, and luckily I was able to get it online quick and cheap, otherwise, I would've had to spend so much time trying to find it.

They told us it was "Clearly written", and we didnt see anything nor was it discussed. Even approving a rental application was a hassle. They kept telling us we needed more info. We moved in a day late in the evening, and there was no door handle on the door.

After we moved in, it took them a long time to install basic things that were included in the rent.

Almost 7 weeks to hook up the dryer. Basement was leaking, and it took 1 year to fix, threating to take them to LTB. We had window screens missing, and it took them almost a year to make, and at least three times, wrong size. It wouldnt fit.

They then started trying to mass evict everyone for every petty reason you could think of.

They would send out notices threatening eviction for using A/C, and freezers even though it was included in previous tenants hydro.

Nothing but money suckers. Try to pull every trick they can to deceive people, and harrass people.
